The dissertation examines the critical works of Rainer Maria Rilke. Analyzed are three early diaries of the poet, the monographs Worpswede and Auguste Rodin and Letters on Cezanne. Included are the letters and smaller works of Russian art. The main themes in the work are: the thing (das Ding, die Dingwerdung), work (die Arbeit), loneliness (die Einsamkeit), art as a craft (das Handwerkliche in der Kunst), the modern anti-perspektive painting and the russian icon paintings. |
