Subject of this dissertation is the theoretical reflexion on the personality and the creation of a philosophical-anthropological concept of personality. The main questions answered are: when and where is the genesis of the concept of personality in philosophy, with which other basic notions it interacts, what is the projection of the concept into reality, what are the factors that build up the personality, what motivates its behavior, what are its goals and how it creates itself. The dissertation thesis outlines the broadest possible theoretical field of topics related to the historical occurrence of the concept of personality and its historical development to the present day. Through the attempt to examine all the aspects involved in the formation of the personality it is achieved positive criticism regarding the notion of personality, which shows its essence, as well as its overall existence. Objectives of the study are: to create a concept of personality and definition of the concept from the perspective of the philosophical anthropology whose historical development gives the perspective through which the notion of personality is created; displaying the context in which the notion of personality originated in Antiquity, its transformation under Christianity and Roman law, as well as its place in philosophical anthropology, psychology, and modern theories exploring the personality.
