The scope and the subject matter of the present research analysis have given a particular emphasis on the detailed historiographical study of the archetypal model of Paulicianism as a complete and comprehensive system of ontological, etiological and Christological visions, which are unified together in a consistent and sustainable doctrine that is being transmitted for centuries in different geographical areas. In order to trace the tracks of an age-old archetype until the present day, the study and its theses and historiographical argumentation are developed in order to efficiently make use of a wide range of available Armenian, Greek, Bulgarian, Arabic, Ottoman and Roman written sources, by comparing them with the data revealed by other studies in this field of history, which have been developed during the 20th century. The historiographical emergence of the specific archetype and the cultural traditions of the Paulician community can be traced historically in various iterations represented in three chronological manifestations for the period 7th - 17th Century AD. The sacred Paulician archetype in the 17th Century AD gradually adopts the institutions of the Catholic and Orthodox Christianity, while other Paulicians change themselves towards the religious institute of Islam. Nevertheless, the Bulgarian Catholic confession has preserved the most persistent traces of the Paulician archetype on the territory of Bulgaria, as the Paulician community has brought forward the idea of "the collar faith" in its new confessions. In the 20th Century AD the cryptic signs of age-old Paulicianism archetype continue to reproduce themselves in the calendar and the family traditions of the Bulgarian Catholics, but, nevertheless, their meaning is not well-known, as it has remained in the past.
