Subject of research of the dissertation thesis are 12 tourism enterprises from the hotel sector in the municipalities of Troyan and Teteven. The subject of the survey is the resources and the financial and economic indicators for the activity of the tourist enterprises from the hotel sector in the municipalities of Troyan and Teteven in the context of cyclical development of the economy. The main goal of the dissertation thesis is to study the external and internal factors that influence the dynamics of the economic activity of the selected tourist enterprises and to present a model for comparative analysis of their production and trade activities. The following specific research Tasks: Analysis of theories and theoretical schools on the nature, classification and reasons for the cyclical development of the economy, incl. And tourism; Analysis and evaluation of the conditions and factors for development of tourism in the municipalities of Troyan and Teteven; Analysis and evaluation of the development of tourism in the two municipalities; Study of the business activity of selected enterprises in the hospitality sector in the municipalities of Troyan and Teteven through financial analysis of their activities. The main thesis in the dissertation is that, regardless of the different dynamics and the inherent specific way of development of each particular economic entity, the enterprises in the sphere of tourism develop cyclically according to the phases of the general economic cycle of the country. Methodological tools include empirical methods, deductive method, methods of analysis and synthesis, mathematical and statistical methods, descriptive methods, economic methods.
