This study is devoted to the systematization of the pottery from the biritual necropolis at the LowerDanube (VII-IX centuries). After a short introduction devoted to the formulation of the main goals, tasks and methods, the first chapter is considered to the historiography of the examined topic. The special place of the necropolis as closed complexes directs the effort to the creation of a typo-chronology of the pottery. To achieve this goal some main tasks were accomplished: collecting and systematizing the piled up ceramic materials; making a catalog of the clay vessels, which is the basis of the statistical processing; correlation of the pottery with other grave finds; outlining its part as a chronologic indicator of the Early Middle Ages. The results received from the analysis are examined as the definitive historical source. These tasks are worked out in chapter II. The relevance of the biritual necropolis to the proto-Bulgarians is beyond question, which allows us to examine another problem - the problem of the descent of the ceramic tradition in proto-Bulgarians and from there the outgoing territory which make their way to the west. This problem is examined in chapter III, in which there is a juxtaposition of the technological and morphological aspects with the pottery of the cultures of the territories where the proto-Bulgarian existence is established in written sources. All the results are brought out in a short conclusion.
