The study covers a time span from the second half of the 2nd century until the mid-3rd century, the period in which the site has functioned. The excavated part of the settlement (3000 sq. m large) belonged to an estate. The following elements of the compound were excavated: one central residential building, another building, situated next to the main one, made from light materials and partially dug into the ground, a third building, which probably had an economic function and from which only the substruction has survived as well as two kiln for pottery, bricks and tiles. Each of the features is studied in relation with the yielded metal, glass, stone, bone, antler and clay finds. The conclusions on the function and the date of each element of the estate were based on this analysis. The study on the imports and the local products provided ground for conclusions on the economic activity of the estate and the trade relations of the region. The analysis led to the conclusion that the excavated estate was part of a larger settlement, defined as a village whose parts were not compactly situated, i. e. it consisted of pieces of arable land situated between the farms. The results of the analysis were compared to the other unfortified settlements dated back to the Roman period, excavated along the Middle Maritsa valley. The comparison proved that the excavated site was a village.
