This PhD will be focused on Cultural differences between East and West from the perspective of Emptiness (Shunyata) and will try to outline corresponding (cultural and philosophical) similarities and dissimilarities. Based on the research an answer to the question, are there common grounds for understanding, will be given.): In Buddhism, deliverance of defilements (desire, hate, and ignorance) is the vital thing to do. But life is to desire, to be creative. The thought, the attention of the modern society is fixed on everything visible. On everything which is defined as “something”. Why deal with Emptiness? Because with this research will be made an attempt to outline and set the problem of interaction between Eastern-Western perspectives of thinking (how the World is seen ), and namely, how the concept of Śūnyatā (Emptiness) was developed into something substantial, shaped later as a philosophy in essays of authors under the name “Kyoto School”. The context that I would like to explore in detail is the correlation between East and West way of thinking, concentrated on some ideas of Nishida Kitaro. I will closely follow the research to Nishitani Keiji’s Book “Shūkyō to wa Nanika” /”What is Religion?” because his philosophy is founded mainly on Emptiness. All this in corresponds to the Phenomenology, Edmund Husserl “Crisis…” and other relevant sources.
