Резюме: This dissertation stages a virtual dialogue between the research field of semiotics and the most contested philosophical branch of modernity, deconstruction. It traces the zones of overlap and dispersal between the research approaches or argumentation styles of the science of signs, on the one hand, and, on the other, the interpretive consequences of the conceptual constellations in Derrida s legacy. The dissertation tries to reconstruct the academic, institutional and existential contexts, which enable certain conceptual configurations, semantic effects and interpretive trails. This reconstruction leads to large-scale comparisons between methodological approaches like representationalism and constructivism. They are underpinned by epistemological choices rooted in such ideological biases as heliocentrism and haptocentrism, which are clearly distinguished in semiotics, while in Derrida s works haptocentrism paradoxically overarches heliocentrism. Examples are outlined that prove that representationalism and constructivism have their own semantic and conceptual effects in both semiotics and deconstruction. This exercise actually constitutes an attempt to make a hypothesis of Derrida s conceptual innovation. Based on the trajectory of the sign in Derrida s body of work, a concomitant cognitive area provisionally dubbed conceptual semiotics has been retrospectively recovered, highlighted and challenged. Conceptual semiotics helps us in the exploration of the tortuous path of the concept in Derrida s legacy. Along with some epistemological contributions, either personalised or methodological, a number of conceptual narratives occupy and important place in this effort. One of them is the story of the labyrinth, which is both a metaphor and logical procedure towards a holistic explanation of Derrida textual practice.
