Examined are the relations between the Bulgarian Orthodox church and the radio in the period starting from the appererance of the radio as a form of mass media in the late 20s up until the beginning of the socially-political change in 1989. The chronological frame and historical borders are determined by the subject itself and the examined area of this research paper, which distinct two main periods from the histrory of the Bulgarian church and Bulgarian society in which the relations between church and radio develop in different ways. Analyzed from a theological point of view the characteristics of the relatioship between the church and the radio in the initial stage of their development and are further represented during the ideologically oppressive state of communism regime. In focus are the spiritually englihting actions of the Bulgarian church in the period before 9.09.1944, the attempts to jump start its main function - evangelization and social interraction via the radio as well as the making of the radio into an anti religious instrument for ideological propaganda in the second period of the relations between church and radio. Subject of this paper, from a thelogical point of view, is a systematic research a situating of the two-sided relations between the church and the radio, more accurately in the scientific frame of morally teaching theology and Christian social ethics are the connections and discrepancies between both institutions.
