The contemporary use of the Past in cultural memory institutions (museums, libraries, galleries, archives) requires re-thinking of heritage concept not as static construct, but as a dynamic voyage, semantically expanded by postmodern distrust in meta-narratives and technologically facilitated. The cultural genes` (memes) dissemination in the Network society & Digital Cultural Heritage enrich chosen PhD theme: Digitization and Virtual Exposal of Movable Cultural Assets (MCA, as stated in the National Cultural Heritage Law). The theme is interdisciplinary; fits into Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics areas. The object of research is digitization, annotation and virtual presentation of MCA, kept in museums. Libraries, archives and galleries are mentioned as comparison base only. The research object is analyzed in 3 perspectives: (1) culture studies, (2) legislation, and (3) technology, while educational thread links them all. PhD goal is to show HOW creative process of curation and storytelling, being main aspect of museum life and computer generated worlds, could be technologically facilitated through correctly processed digitization, management and long-term preservation. Contributions: (1) Analysis of all types of digitization rules, (de jure & de facto) standards for museum documentation; museum statistics, good practices, and WEB 3.0 requirements for multi-criterial semantic search, (2) Step-by-step-digitization methodology, conformed with Bulgarian specifics, presented for the first time in Bulgaria, (3) Qualitative structured interviews with museum experts, (4) Table model of scientific e-passport of MCA. 2D digitization methodology had been approved in theory (educational courses) and in practice (Bulgarian museums).
