The dissertation objectives are traditional media, on one hand, and social media and social networks, on the other. The subject of the dissertation is the comparison between the way of reflecting the Bulgarian social protests during the political and social events in 2013 by traditional media, on one hand, and social networks and social media, on the other. The aim of the dissertation is to reveal the degree of blogs and traditional media freedom, inviolability of control and influence. The thesis is that the existing media ecosystem does not show a high degree of professionalism and reliability of the information provided. The specific aspects of the thesis are three: 1. blogs are more independent and free of regulatory, market and political control, and of technological, manufacturing and content-based information sources compared to traditional media; 2. blogs and social networks provide more alternative information compared to traditional media. They offer stronger personal position, more analyticism and a journalistic approach than traditional media does not; 3. Traditional media, social media and social networks increasingly interact in the media ecosystem field, becoming increasingly close and indispensable.
