This dissertation thesis is a theoretical-empirical study of the leadership styles and strategies as factors for the management of structural organizational changes. The subject of scientific analysis is the thesis that leadership style and strategies determine the direction of the organizational change. On the other hand, looking at the palette of leadership styles, the aim of the work is to develop a model for effective leadership for the management of a specific type of change (simplification of the structure) in a given environment. For the realization of the research objectives, a is used a framework for the leadership, the learning organization and the organizational change strategies, on which the quantitative research tool is built (Bennebroek Gravenhorst, 2002; Werkman, 2005; Marsick & Watkins, 2003; Sylvester, 2003; Garcia- Morales, 2007; Miller & amp; Friesen, 1983; Bass & Avolio, 1989). For the first time in Bulgaria the McKinsey's 7S business model is being applied, which is adapted to the research objectives, as the essence of the model is in the seven internal aspects of the organization that need to be aligned if it wants to be successful and effective. A questionnaire on the attitude to change is also being constructed and a scale is being developed to measure the success of structural changes in the organization.
