The scientific object of the dissertation is the sermons of St. Kliment Ohridski. The sermons are chosen because so far there is no separate work dedicated entirely to them. The goals of the dissertation are to be made a complex analysis of the sermons of Kliment Ohridski and to explore their genre, style and thematic scope. Correspondingly, the dissertation sets the following tasks that were performed: to examine the style of the era and the cultural context of the time of their writing (mainly the education of priest in West and East Europe and the development of the rhetoric); second, to explore the genre style of sermons of Kliment Ohridski; third, the authorial style to be studied through a rhetorical analysis of Kliment Ohridski sermons; and fourth, to be made comparisons with other Christian preachers and works (John Chrysostom, Basil the Great, Gregory the Great). |
