The specific dimensions (characteristic features) of team leadership in a new paradigm context are examined. The focus lies on transactional, charismatic and transformational leadership. Therefore, we may conclude that the new leadership theories are integrative. They examine more than one characteristic of leadership, including distinctive features, behaviour, process of influence and situational context. The new (integrative) approach to leadership, the new paradigm through the prism of leadership roles in team environment, John Adair's functional model of leadership, the concept of self-leadership by Manz and Sims and Hersey Blanchard's situational leadership model are analyzed by identifying dependencies connected with the phases necessary when building a team. The main thesis of the author is that through specific leadership studies and applications in a team environment occur processes of evolutionary concepts, and revaluation of general truths and accumulated knowledge is needed.
